Personal item policy

A small handbag or laptop bag is expected to fit within your allowance. First and Business explicitly get two items (briefcase plus handbag or garment bag); Emirates' page lists the per-item sizes.

Checked baggage: how it works

Checked allowance on most fares is piece-based by route and class (Emirates uses the piece concept worldwide); Skywards Platinum and Gold get extra allowance. Emirates' checked-baggage pages carry current tables.

If your bag is too big or too heavy

Emirates gates and cabins have sizers; oversize cabin bags are checked at airport rates. Duty-free purchases count toward your allowance, and liquids rules differ by departure airport.

Weigh before you wing it

Most carriers here enforce a 7–10 kg cabin limit. A luggage scale costs less than one gate fee and ends the guesswork.
