Korean Air cabin baggage allowance
Korean Air's current rule is a single combined allowance for all cabins: one carry-on plus one personal item with a combined weight of 10 kg. (Older guides quoting 12 kg in Economy or 18 kg in Prestige reflect a previous policy.)
The short answer
1 carry-on + 1 personal item, 10 kg combined. Carry-on max 115 cm total (55 x 40 x 20 cm); personal item max 40 x 30 x 15 cm.
Cabin bag: size and weight at a glance
| Item | Korean Air allowance |
|---|---|
| Carry-on (max size) | 115 cm total or 55 x 40 x 20 cm |
| Personal item (max size) | 40 x 30 x 15 cm |
| Weight | 10 kg combined |
| Applies to | Economy, Premium First and Prestige alike |
Dimensions always include wheels and handles unless the airline says otherwise.
Personal item policy
The personal item (handbag, laptop bag, small backpack) travels in addition to the carry-on but shares the same 10 kg combined cap.
Checked baggage: how it works
Checked baggage is piece-based on Americas routes and weight-based on many others, varying by cabin and fare; Morning Calm Premium and SkyTeam Elite Plus members get extras. Korean Air's checked-baggage pages carry the current tables.
If your bag is too big or too heavy
Duty-free purchases count toward your carry-on allowance, and over-allowance items can be gate-checked with a possible fee. Weigh everything — including the duty-free boxes — before you board.

Baggage rules change without notice. Always confirm with Korean Air before flying — current official page: Korean Air — carry-on baggage (official).
Weigh before you wing it
Most carriers here enforce a 7–10 kg cabin limit. A luggage scale costs less than one gate fee and ends the guesswork.
