Vietnam Airlines cabin baggage allowance
Vietnam Airlines tightened its Economy carry-on rule: passengers now get one main piece plus one accessory with a combined cap of 10 kg (older tickets and some markets used to allow 12 kg). Business keeps a two-piece arrangement totalling 18 kg.
The short answer
Economy / Premium Economy: 1 piece + 1 accessory, 10 kg combined. Business: 2 pieces up to 10 kg each + 1 accessory, 18 kg combined. Main piece max 56 x 36 x 23 cm; accessory max 40 x 30 x 15 cm.

Personal item policy
The 'accessory' is your personal item — handbag, laptop bag, camera, small backpack — within 40 x 30 x 15 cm. Its weight counts inside the combined limit.
Checked baggage: how it works
Checked allowance is by piece concept on most international routes and varies by cabin and fare. Prepaid extra baggage online is cheaper than airport rates; Vietnam Airlines' pages have the current tables.
If your bag is too big or too heavy
Carry-on over the combined weight or size limits is checked at the airport rate. Because the Economy cap was recently reduced, older guides showing 12 kg are out of date — trust the airline's own page.

Weigh before you wing it
Most carriers here enforce a 7–10 kg cabin limit. A luggage scale costs less than one gate fee and ends the guesswork.
