EVA Air cabin baggage allowance
Like its Taipei rival, EVA Air uses a per-piece carry-on rule: every cabin bag may weigh up to 7 kg with total dimensions of 115 cm (56 x 36 x 23 cm works). Cabin class decides how many pieces you get.
The short answer
Economy and Premium Economy (Elite styles excepted): 1 piece up to 7 kg (max 115 cm total / 56 x 36 x 23 cm). Business / Royal Laurel and higher tiers: 2 pieces, each up to 7 kg.
Cabin bag: size and weight at a glance
| Item | EVA Air allowance |
|---|---|
| Cabin bag (max size, per piece) | 115 cm total, 56 x 36 x 23 cm |
| Weight (per piece) | 7 kg |
| Pieces — Economy / Premium Economy | 1 (plus a small personal item) |
| Pieces — Business / Royal Laurel | 2 (plus a small personal item) |
Dimensions always include wheels and handles unless the airline says otherwise.
Personal item policy
A small personal item — handbag, laptop case or similar — travels in addition to your cabin bag(s). Keep it genuinely small: anything approaching cabin-bag size will be counted as a piece.
Do status or loyalty tiers change the allowance?
Infinity MileageLands status (and premium cabins) raises the number of pieces, not the per-piece weight: eligible members and Business / Royal Laurel passengers may bring two 7 kg pieces where Economy gets one.
Checked baggage: how it works
Checked baggage follows the piece concept — for example two pieces at 23-32 kg each on many premium long-haul fares — set by route and class. One hard rule: no single piece over 32 kg.
If your bag is too big or too heavy
Oversize or overweight cabin bags are checked into the hold, with airport-rate charges. EVA Air's page is the source for current excess rates.

Weigh before you wing it
Most carriers here enforce a 7–10 kg cabin limit. A luggage scale costs less than one gate fee and ends the guesswork.
