Scoot cabin baggage allowance
Scoot, Singapore Airlines' low-cost arm, moved to a combined-weight carry-on model: you may bring up to two items whose combined weight fits your allowance — 10 kg in Economy, 15 kg in ScootPlus. That is unusually generous for a budget carrier, and it replaced the older 7 kg single-bag rule.
The short answer
Up to 2 pieces with a combined weight of 10 kg in Economy (15 kg in ScootPlus). The cabin bag itself may measure up to 54 x 38 x 23 cm; the second item should be a personal item around 40 x 30 x 10 cm that fits under the seat.
Cabin bag: size and weight at a glance
| Item | Scoot allowance |
|---|---|
| Cabin bag (max size) | 54 x 38 x 23 cm |
| Personal item | Up to 2 items total; second item e.g. 40 x 30 x 10 cm underseat |
| Weight — Economy | 10 kg combined |
| Weight — ScootPlus | 15 kg combined |
| Extra Cabin Bag add-on | Adds up to 7 kg on Boeing 787-operated flights |
Dimensions always include wheels and handles unless the airline says otherwise.
Personal item policy
The second piece is your personal item — handbag, laptop bag, small backpack — and it shares the same combined weight allowance. There is no separate free personal-item weight on top.
Checked baggage: how it works
Scoot fares do not include checked baggage: you buy the weight you need, and pre-purchasing online is always cheaper than at the airport. Sports equipment and bulky items have their own handling rules — see Scoot's baggage pages.
If your bag is too big or too heavy
Excess cabin weight or gate-handled bags attract Scoot's airport rates, which are the most expensive way to pay. If you think you'll exceed 10 kg, adding baggage online in advance costs a fraction of the gate price.

Weigh before you wing it
Most carriers here enforce a 7–10 kg cabin limit. A luggage scale costs less than one gate fee and ends the guesswork.
