Thai Airways cabin baggage allowance
Thai Airways allows one carry-on piece up to 7 kg in all classes — the size cap, 56 x 45 x 25 cm, is one of the more generous among full-service Asian carriers. What changes with class and status is the number of pieces.
The short answer
One piece up to 7 kg, max 56 x 45 x 25 cm in every cabin. Royal First, Royal Silk and eligible premium passengers may add a second piece; Star Alliance Gold members travelling on multi-carrier itineraries get an extra piece as well. A small handbag (up to 37.5 x 25 x 12.5 cm and 1.5 kg) does not count.

Personal item policy
A small handbag within Thai's stated size (75 cm total, up to 1.5 kg) is carried in addition to the allowance. Larger personal items will be counted against your carry-on allowance.
Do status or loyalty tiers change the allowance?
Yes — via extra pieces rather than extra weight. Premium cabins and Star Alliance Gold (on itineraries involving other Star carriers) may bring an additional carry-on piece; the per-piece 7 kg cap stays the same.
Checked baggage: how it works
Checked baggage follows the piece concept on most routes, by cabin and fare. Royal Orchid Plus Gold and Star Alliance Gold members receive extra checked allowance; the current tables are on Thai's checked-baggage page.
If your bag is too big or too heavy
Pieces beyond the allowance or over 7 kg are gate-checked at airport rates. Thai's own pages carry the current excess-baggage charges.

Weigh before you wing it
Most carriers here enforce a 7–10 kg cabin limit. A luggage scale costs less than one gate fee and ends the guesswork.
